About Us

The Turquoise Coast Festival builds on the foundations of the Indian Ocean Festival. This long-running event was established in 2009 to celebrate the local community and the annual blessing of the fleet.
In 2024, the festival was taken over by the Jurien Bay Progress Association to provide a platform for local businesses and community organisations to showcase their produce and demonstrate their work for the community. Seafood from the Indian Ocean, fresh produce from local farms, talented homegrown entertainers, leading businesses and service providers, dedicated community groups and their awesome volunteers are all part of what makes the Turquoise Coast a unique place to visit.
Visitors can explore various displays and visit market stalls showcasing fresh local produce, a variety of foods, and artisan crafts, join the local Park Run, watch the blessing of the fleet, a skating demo and coaching, and engage in fun games, rides and more! There’s also live entertainment throughout the day by talented musicians from the local area and other parts of the state.
Jurien Bay Progress Association
The Jurien Bay Progress Association was established in 1963 to develop community projects and lobby for resources in the community. The main aim of the progress association is to support economic growth, sustainability and culture in the local community. We hold monthly markets for small businesses to sell their produce and host a garage-style stall near the football oval to raise money for community events. The association liaises with the local shire to support community groups in obtaining grant funding.
The Jurien Progress Association is run by dedicated volunteers. Some of the activities we run include:
- Monthly community markets
- Operate a community garage sale/op shop (open Saturdays)
- Turquoise Coast Festival
