Boats in a procession passing the old jetty in Jurien for the Blessing of the Fleet at Turquoise Coast Festival

Blessing of the Fleet

The Jurien Bay Blessing of the Fleet is a cherished annual tradition, usually held during the Turquoise Coast Festival in November.

The Blessing features a colourful procession of professional fishing vessels and community boats parading past the Jurien jetty to seek a safe and prosperous season. The flotilla sets sail at 10.30 am from the Jurien Marina, and is blessed by a priest as they sail past.

The parade includes a competition for the best-dressed vessel (both pro and amateur boats).

The Blessing of the Fleet brings the local community together to honour the town’s fishing heritage and to ensure boater safety.
